Things to Keep in Mind When Buying a LCD Flat Panel Monitor

by Mind Movies on Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Before you run out and purchase a new LCD flat panel monitor, you should definitely do some research first. Here is a sort of checklist you might use to shop for your new LCD flat panel monitor. This could help you avoid spending your money on junk, help you not get ripped off, and help you end up with an LCD flat panel monitor that you can be happy with. Follow these simple steps, and I assure you, you will find a monitor that you can enjoy for years to come.

1… Go to your local computer stores. Shop around, talk to some people, and learn a little bit about what you are looking for. Ask for suggestions, and just seek information. Also keep track of what the prices are, as you want to compare prices store to store. Pick out like three different monitors that you feel good about, than you are ready to move onto the next step.

2… Get online and do some more research. Research all three monitors. Find out what kind of problems people have been having with them, find out how long they last, how well they perform, and how well they hold up. Read some customer reviews, some consumer reports, and visit the home-pages of the companies in question for warranty and support information.

3… Once you have decided on which monitor you want, search the internet for the best prices. Search for at least five different online stores, and get their prices. You now have prices of all your local stores, and prices of five major online stores. You can now compare prices, and get the monitor you want at the best price! Make sure to calculate shipping costs into your total, as shipping can be expensive!

4… When you finally do purchase your new LCD flat panel monitor, plug it in and enjoy it! You have made an informed decision and bought a monitor that will last, and you have also gotten it for the best price available! You definitely have reason to pat yourself on the back, and after all the work you have done to get it, you definitely deserve some time to enjoy it! So, play some games, watch some movies, surf the web, or just turn on the screensaver and savor it… once you have your new LCD flat panel monitor, you will know what I mean!

The Best Kids Movies

by Mind Movies on Monday, July 26th, 2010

It can sometimes be difficult finding a movie to watch that is suitable for the whole family. Even when the ratings are safe, you may not be happy when it comes to actually watching the movie itself. Here is a quick guide to a few fun films that are perfect for the whole family, and that your kids will absolutely love!

Toy Story

This is a firm favourite amongst the younger generation, as well as the adults! Toy Story 1 and 2 were two of the biggest selling films due to their imaginative storylines and action packed adventures. Children and adults alike love to imagine what it would be like if toys really came to life, so this would be a great choice to add to your permanent movie collection.

Willy Wonka/ Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

There are now two versions of this modern film, but your kids will probably love them both. You could choose the hit from the 70s or go with the more modern version starring Johnny Depp. This truly is a magical film, and what kid does not enjoy watching those wonderful scenes inside the factory! It contains the tale of Charlie Bucket, who is a poor boy that gets a chance to visit this dreamed-of chocolate factory. Bear in mind that the scenes in this movie may not be suitable for the very youngest kids!

Pirates of the Caribbean

Again this might be more suitable for the slightly older kids, but the adults will love it too! This stars Johnny Depp as the unforgettable Captain Jack Sparrow and is an adventure right from the start. With pirates and treasure the action really never stops, and the great thing is that there are already 3 of these films to keep your family occupied for hours!

Disney Films

There are too many Disney cartoons to list them all here, but they are a sure fire hit with kids of all ages. Whether your little girl wants to be a princess, or your little boy wants to be a pirate you can choose a film to suit their tastes and to keep them happy for hours. These are great fun for the whole family, and include some really classics that are still just as charming today as they were when they were made.

Spy Kids

For a non-cartoon film to watch how about Spy Kids? Again there are a number of releases in the series of Spy Kids movies, which is great for kids who love to watch films! You might find that these films are pretty ridiculous, but the kids absolutely love it, and it is great if you don’t have time to sit down and watch it with them!

As you can see there are plenty of great films that can please both kids and adults, and can suit different ages of kids. It is always great to be able to sit your child down in front of a good movie and not worry about what they are seeing. There are plenty more, but for now your child should have nothing to complain about!

Manner to Copy From Encrypted DVD Movies

by Mind Movies on Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Currently DVDs are amongst the largest sized storage devices in the optical storage media category that are cheap and abundantly available at every corner store worth its name. The invention of DVD readers and writers has really increased DVD demand, yet the question in all users mind is how to copy a copyrighted DVD. Though the material in the DVD is copyright protected, the pleasure of copying the files goes beyond merely copying it; it is the thrill of taking up the challenge of something difficult, that is the driving force behind most such efforts.

Copyrighting of DVDs is done largely these days to block any kind of malpractice being done. The information stored inside it would be pretty important and should be secured and for this the copyrighting is done. The term copyrighting means, the information present in the DVD cannot be copied from it to another CD or DVD.

The files can be easily copied form the copy protected DVDs by using special software. This software is called ?DVD Ripping? software. As the name suggests, it literally ?rips? the files out of the DVD thus getting through best protection options. Several of such software is available over the net, free or otherwise.

If it is possible, you can do it too, as can most people who know the basics of computers. We need to have appropriate software?s for copying the copyrighted DVDs. Searching in search engines is a good option, as plenty of free as well as paid software are available on the internet.

Nero Six was the first software which I came across after searching on the internet. It was pretty easy to install and it was pretty useful and easily handled when it came to normal data. On the other hand, while doing the same with copyrighted DVD, it showed a message stating that the DVD is copyrighted and could not be copied. This made me search again on the internet for another solution for copying.

The next software which I came across was Any DVD which claimed the same of copying from copyrighted DVD. I thought this would also produce the same message as the earlier one. But here I was very lucky as I go the work done with this software. The program was pretty simple, easily downloadable, and comfortable to work and the steps were demonstrated in detail.

My message is simple- where there is a will there is a way. If you want to learn how to copy copyrighted DVD, go searching, or bookmark this forum for the latest updates every week. A little enterprise is all you need to find out how to copy a copyrighted DVD.

Create your Own Home Movies on a DVD

by Mind Movies on Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Are you one of those people who consider yourself “computer savvy?” Maybe you would rather call yourself “technology challenged.” Either way, I can help you through the process of creating your very own custom home movie in a very fun way. I will walk you through the step by step process of organizing, editing and producing your own DVD movie.

Step One:

The first step is the most important. You need to collect all your pictures and videos that you want to use in your movie. While doing that, you should be thinking about what theme you want your movie to be. For example: you may want to do your child’s birthday in which case you want to collect all the pictures and videos from that event. I always make an annual family movie to share with our friends and relatives so every January I collect all the pictures and videos of the previous year for my movie.

Step Two:

Now you have all your pictures and videos that you would like to use for your movie. If you have any videos that are on outdated technology like 8mm or VHS, you will need to have them “transferred” to DVD. You can use a web service to do this for you and it’s very inexpensive. Also, if your pictures have not been scanned into the computer, you need to scan them in or send them out to have that done for you.

Step Three:

When you have everything on a disc, you can begin the editing process. You should find a movie editing program that you can use easily. Some operating systems have movie editing programs built in. When you begin to make your movie, take time to think about how you want to tell the story. For example: if you wanted to do a movie on your child’s life you might want to start with your pregnancy pictures or maybe the sonogram. If you sent out birth announcements, you could have the main screen be the announcement.

Be prepared to spend several hours in this step. The editing process will be the most time-consuming because you have to organize everything and be mindful of your timeline. If you don’t want an extremely long movie, there will be some pictures or video clips that don’t make it in the movie. This is why organizing everything beforehand is so important. You will have to stop and come back to the project several times. Don’t expect to have the editing done in an hour. It will most likely take you at least 5 hours to ensure that you end up with a high-quality final product.

The next thing to consider is background music. The best movies have the perfect background music. For example, my last family movie featured an introduction to the family and I selected “We are Family” by Sister Sledge. It was great because it was upbeat and lots of fun.

Making a custom movie takes time and it is a creative process so ask other people to view your movie before you finalize it. Sometimes you get so used to looking at the movie, you can overlook small mistakes that others will see more clearly. The final thing you need to do is save your movie as an AVI file. AVI stands for Audio Video Interleaved and is commonly used in many programs for audio video projects.

Step Four:

With your final movie saved as an avi file, you now need to put in onto a DVD. Sounds easier said than done right? First you need to research programs that do “DVD Authoring.” DVD authoring describes the process of creating a DVD video that can be played on a DVD player. Select a program that says user-friendly or easy-to-use. Once you have your software you can begin to make your DVD. You can choose to have a DVD menu or just an auto-play movie which will automatically start the movie once it’s inserted into your DVD player. You need to buy blank DVD’s and cases. It’s nice to buy cases because you can properly store your DVD’s without fear of them getting scratched and also so you can give them to your friends and family. Your local Office Depot or Staples will have blank DVD’s and cases for you to choose from. Keep in mind that the more you buy, the better the price. Instead of sending Christmas cards out this year, you can send your loved ones copies of your brand new custom movie on a DVD. How impressive!

I hope this article has helped you bring your memories back to life.

Good luck!
