The term purpose driven initially came into use as a paradigm taught to pastors and other Christian leaders around the word to aid them to be more efficient in leading their churches. The word paradigm comes for the Greek word paradeigma which means a set of statements, ideas, values and practices that represents a way of analyzing reality for the community that shares them, especially in an academic discipline. To be “purpose driven” is to be motivated to God’s commandments and not in our own beliefs.
The basic principle of the Purpose Driven paradigm is for a pastor to distinguish and be submissive to God’s purposes for his people and his church. Be able to categorize around developing these qualities into the lives of people within his care. In Christian terms, this is the mission of creating disciples. The creed of the Purpose Driven paradigm has been taught to thousands of Christian leaders around the world through talks and seminars, with Christian leaders implementing the beliefs in their churches.
The Purpose Driven paradigm is a set of ideas and methods founded on a perceptive of the biblical principles for the church. Applying this paradigm permits the church to be more efficient in calling out to people, welcoming them to the church, encouraging and training them for Christ-like behavior.
Purpose Driven paradigm gives confidence to the Christian leaders to continue an intended, planned, and balanced focus on all five purposes. The five purposes are: worship ( To love the Lord with all your hear.), ministry (To love your neighbor as you love yourself.), mission (To go and make disciples.), fellowship (Baptizing the followers.), and discipleship (Teaching the followers to obey.). The concept focuses on health of the congregation. The paradigm is being used by churches in several denominations and theological expressions across the world.
Purpose driven is also having a reason in life. Be committed to connect in evangelistic duty, so that we could prepare ourselves for the pleasurable experience of having an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. The goal of life for every human being is gaining enlightenment and finding salvation. Develop a genuine experience of Christian Fellowship. Be able to help other people and to them the opportunity to understand and experience the love of God.
A person with a purpose means that he appreciates fully what life means. A person who knows his purpose is content with what he had and what has.. A person who understands his life knows that his life not about him, it about sharing himself, what he learned and what he has to others. It’s about loving God and finding God in ourselves and in every people that we meet.
